The East Coast
- Denmark's most beautiful cycle route
We love it when people use our beautiful nature, and we are happy to provide facilities for the many cyclists in Denmark.
One of the 11 national routes is the East Coast Route (667 km), where you can ride from Sønderborg in the south and to Hulsig 28 km north of Frederikshavn. The historic trading towns are regularly located along this route, which is therefore suitable for many stops along the way. The route is relatively uneven, and cyclists should be in good shape to cover the entire route in a week.
A cycle tour in beautiful North Jutland
From Hulsig, you can, for example, go on one of Denmark's 46 best day trips - namely panoramic route 415, Kingdom of the Birds of Prey (41,39 km). You can read a lot more about cycling in Denmark here...
We also have several Marguerite routes near the campsite, we have Understed Bakker, where you have the most fantastic view over the Kattegat Sea. If you would rather cycle at the sea, you have only 2.5 km along the beach to Sæby. The trip to Frederikshavn is both pleasant and easy and only approx. 10 km long.
Rent your electric bike here
We have a good collaboration with one of North Jutland's most skilled bike dealers, who delivers and maintains the bikes we rent out to our guests here at the campsite. An electric bike costs 225 DKK for a day, a normal bike 100 DKK.
If you live in a tent, you can access our Panorama Room, where you will find a good kitchen and a fridge, where you are welcome to put your food. Here you can also find shelter from the weather, just as our covered barbecue terrace is always available. Buy barbecue packages and other goodies at Hedebo Strand Super (see more here) or have the food made in Hedebo Strand Café (see more here).
